MI 12 may launch in end of this year
Mi 12 may launch in the end of this year, according to the leaks. Smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphone Mi 11. It was the first smartphone to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. A new report from noted Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the smartphone may feature a 200MP main camera. The new report suggests that the Xiaomi Mi 12 may feature this sensor. It may also even borrow into a potential Samsung and Olympus partnership for its rear camera unit.

Qualcomm is working on its next-gen flagship processor, i.e. Snapdragon 895 SoC, and this is expected to be unveiled in early December. Qualcomm is said to be half a month ahead of schedule and this could result in the chipset launching earlier than expected. Xiaomi and Qualcomm have partnered many times in the past, the flagship Mi 12 could also be unveiled this year. MI 12 may not launch in end of this year.
Ice Universe also claims that the Snapdragon 895 will be seen in flagships launching in the first half of second year. Qualcomm will then subsequently launch the Snapdragon 895+ SoC in June.
Rumored Specification of MI 12:
Xiaomi Mi 12 may get a rear camera module with the Olympus branding on it. this may feature a 200MP camera on the rear. The 200MP camera project has so far been rumoured to feature a 192MP ISOCELL camera sensor, which measures 1/1.37 inches in size. However, the said sensor is reportedly going to feature 0.64um pixel size. Olympus is believed to be co-developing the camera technology. It may also lend its expertise in an area that it is considered to be a legend in – camera optics.
Xiaomi Mi 12 will run on the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 895 SoC. The phone may come with the Android 12 operating system. It is said it will come with the Adreno 730 GPU and a LPDDR5 RAM.
There is no guarantee, and Xiaomi could well stick to its own timelines and launch the phone 2022. However it will risk other brands releasing phones with the latest flagship SoC, in that case. The tipster notes that the Snapdragon 895 SoC is half a month ahead of schedule in production and an early launch is just speculation.
