Review related to Redmi A1:

1. From Amazon

Vaibhav waghmare

background: I have used flagships like Samsung S series, Xperia Z series and Nexus line. Also I used to use budget mobiles like Moto E series and xperia tipo
Bought this one since i needed a cheap mobile with stock android
Android go in a1 compromises on android 12 features to ensure better performance with limited hardware -No gesture support, No widgets, amazon doesn’t work, split scree option not available
pros: no lag in UI though apps open with some delay, decent camera for outdoors, loud ear piece, battery lasts two days with low brightness and normal use
OS is not as clean as Moto, has some redmi features
pro tip: Do not insert sd card and configure as internal storage. It pulls down performance

I bought this phone for my mom who is a first time user of a smartphone. After her initial usage and observations below is my feedback

Pros
Stock Andriod no ads in between which leads to confusions on what next to be done.
Bigger icons.
Seamless usage experience while navigating within.

Cons
C Type charging option not available
Its a USB mini so senior citizens might find it difficult to adjust. It requires loads of patience to get it right
Sections where user input is requested is grey and shaded. Not a good experience as you end up looking here and there.
Cable length is under one meter and is a big disappointment.
No proximity sensor it’s a big no for senior citizens.
